November 15th Dinner Report

• 451 diners — eveyone who waited in the looong lineup got food. Not many leftovers. Some volunteers noticed that we’ll need to start reminding people not to take seconds before everyone in line has had firsts.
• Line-up started about 5:20. Arrive by 5:10 if you’re in a group. While youre waiting: Board games, free wireless, Mozart at 4 pm (makes you smarter). Quiet study hall available (we’ll save your seat.

Last dinner of 2011: Open mic night 29 November

It’s a tough time of year, but there’s always time for an open mic. So get ready. We’ll start at 5:30 pm. Sing, dance, Gregorian chant, play an instrument, 2-min Shakespeare. Three minutes per person or group please (1 song). After that we get out the hook! If you need equipment, please ask if we have it at least a week in advance.

November 1st Dinner Report

• 510 diners — enough food with some leftovers
• Line-up started about 5:30, and we recommend people arrive at 5:15 especially if in groups. Some arrive early afternoon to study, have meeting, play games, etc. Study in the gym or ask about the quiet study room. Free wireless available.

• No dinner next week 8 November. It’s reading break. Volunteers and cooks are taking a break, too.

A few people in the dinner crew told us they’re growing a mo during Prostate Cancer Awarness Month. We’ll post the names of the people we know about in the upcomoing news sheet November 15. Among the mo growers are volunteer, Paul Turner (photo right). Watch for the emergence of his luxuriant white moustache and beard. Paul Turner
